I fastened the wood with two screws
and transferred the pattern that will be a clearance hole for the
down-bars. Once I had both sides marked, I cut them out.

Now that I have some clearance holes
for the bars, I'm ready to start cutting out a piece of carpet and start
        fitting it.

The carpet that I'm going to use is
        from
Teas Design but is made in Norway. It's hard to tell what color it is
here because the flash washed it out but It's just a little lighter than
the leather which should complement each other very well.

The carpet comes 54" wide so I
had plenty of extra to trim once I had the length I needed. I'll be
leaving the carpet a little long but cutting it to the width of the
piece of wood. The reason I'm leaving it long is so I can tuck it up
under the deck-lid area and also below the floor. The trunk floor piece
will butt-up next to this piece and get rolled around the bottom section of
the floor. This way the ends of both pieces of carpet will be hidden and
covered by other pieces for a nice clean look. At least that's the
        plan.
