What we have here are some arm-rests.
        These are made by
		RodDoors and
        they're
        made out of ABS plastic.
They are 16" long and are hollow as you can see. What you do is
make a cut-out for these to fit through and then fasten them to the door
panel. These arm-rests have a large lip on the back to use for fastening
them down. I need to make a pattern to make the cut-outs because they
didn't come with one and the outside is too large to use as one.

For my pattern, I used some thin
cardboard and cut a little at a time till I had what I wanted. What I
wanted was the size of the inside of the armrest which would be just a
        little undersize. Now I can
draw around my new pattern and make the cut-out.

Here is the arm rest in place and I
used my Dremel again to do the cutting which worked very well. You can
see some layout lines around it which represents the outside of the arm
rest in the position that I wanted. I placed my paper pattern inside these lines and this is where I
made my cut-out. The paper pattern that I made was a little small like I
had planned but it's better to have it this way than too big. After a
little cut-and-fit, the armrest now has about an 1/8" clearance all
around it. Why so big? Well you have to have room for material so this
is just looking ahead a little. Having an arm rest is nice but how am I going to close
my door if I don't have something to hold on too?

I also bought this from RodDoors which
is a pull kit for there armrests. What you do is make a cut-out in the armrest and insert
the finger-pulls where ever you want them. The metal brackets get fastened to the door and the
finger-pulls screw to them securing them in place. The green and white area on the metal
brackets are covering some double-sided tape. This tape is to help you
line-up the brackets in the right place on your door. What you do is fit
the finger-pulls to the armrests, and then screw the finger-pulls to the
metal brackets. Let me show you how I lined up the brackets using the
        tape.
