This is what it looks like with the
kick panel installed. The gap between the panels will be covered
with wind-lace once I make it, or have it made because it requires
sewing. It fits well and now I need to order carpet and start fitting
        that soon.

At this point, I'm at a standstill with the rest of
my panels on the inside so I turned my attention to the trunk. The trunk
is an area that doesn't get seen very often but when it does, it should
look something like the inside of the car, or at least look nice. I was
going to cover most of this area with leather so it would match the
interior because I had enough left over to make that happen. I started
cutting out some patterns to get an idea of what I wanted to do and came
up with something like this. The panels you see below would be a two piece design
        which will be fastened
together and then covered with leather. The trunk floor will have carpet
that will match the inside of the car. Now that the cardboard pattern is
just about finished, it's time to transfer this pattern to some wood and
        do some cutting.

What you see here is the underside of
the deck-lid (trunk). This fiberglass car is built like a steel car in the
respect that it has an outer panel fastened to an inner panel. What I
discovered was that the underside of the inner panel was hitting my
cardboard pattern when the lid was closed. If it hit now when there was
no foam or material on it, I would surely have a problem when I was
finished. Better to find this now than later! That meant I had to go
back to the drawing board and figure out another way of making my new
        pieces.

On the other side of the trunk, I
started cutting out more cardboard and I came up with this way of making
my new pieces. I didn't want to do it this way but I was running out of
options. This would be a three piece design and would clear the deck-lid
with no problems. The side panel is going to end up resting on the
bottom and not fastened to it. The piece that is resting on the trunk
floor will be fastened to the curved piece which will be a two piece
design. Let's cut out some wood and
        see what happens now.
