After transferring the pattern to the
wood and cutting it out, I noticed a gap on both sides of the area that
the latch bolts too. This shot shows the piece in the center that is
sticking out a 1/16" farther than the back of the trunk which was
        causing the gap.

To fill the gap, I added some thin
cardboard to the back of the wood and glued it on. This was just the
right thickness and won't be seen once the material is on it. I'm going
to need a way to hold all these panels in place so let's take a look at
        how that's going to happen.

      I'm going to use
"Hook-and-Loop" (Velcro) to hold the panels in place. This has
an adhesive backing that can stand temps up to 200 degrees and the size
is 1 1/2" X 50 feet long. All I need to do is peel off the
protective paper and stick the cutoff piece to my panel and the other to
a bracket. This stuff holds great and can be used over and over
        again.

I needed a bracket for the back panel
so I made two like this one. I had to bend it past 90 degrees so I added
a hole on the face so I could get at the screw that holds it down. Let's
take a look at it installed in the trunk.
