The speakers that will be used in the
rear are also made by Infinity. The model I bought is 9603i which are
three way speakers and measure 6" X 9" which sounded great
when I heard them. I had planned on using an amp to drive all of them but returned it along with
the two wiring kits needed to hook them up with. The reason I took them back
is because I don't think I'll be using this car for a long distance cruiser,
plus the amp weighs a bunch. If it doesn't sound good enough to
me, I can always go back and buy it again.

I had to make some minor adjustments
to the speaker opening and then mounted them with some sheet metal
screws. I planned on mounting these speakers like I did in the doors
which means I'm going to mount them in the structure of the car and not
the panel that gets covered with upholstery. In case your wondering, I
have only one speaker grill installed just to see how it looked.

This is what it looks like from the
trunk side now that they're  installed. I'm going to need to cut the
support that holds the floor a small amount because of the depth of the
magnets. By cutting holes in the support, this will give me an area for the air that the
speakers move a way to pass through between the floor of the trunk and bottom
of the car. This area is tapered as it goes towards the rear of the car
which should give me a good working system when I'm through.

To make sure that I keep the
noise to a minimum and the sound to a premium, I'm going to use this insulation on most of the car.
        This is made by
		B-Quite
and is called Brown Bread (go figure). Brown Bread is a viscoelastic deadener
with a bitumen based adhesive (looks like and gets you dirty like tar)
and sticks like you wouldn't believe. With an aluminum constraining
layer and a unique composition with suspended mineral particles it has
been proven to be extremely efficient at the conversion of vibration to
thermal energy. Brown Bread is extremely flexible which is very
important as it allows it to properly adhere to a contoured panel.
It can be installed anywhere including under
the hood. Brown Bread is 1.6mm (63mil)
thick, weighs 0.4lb/sq. ft. and comes in 2 foot wide rolls. The only
problem is that the weight adds up fast so I'll have to be careful using
it. It also came with a roller which is a hardwood roller that makes the
installation of the material quick and easy and insures that it sticks
properly. Once this stuff is stuck down, it's very hard to get it back
off which is a good thing.....right?
