Here is the finished drive shaft hoop
with the nuts welded in place. The new bolts are easy to get at under
the car now and won't matter if the mufflers are installed or not. I'll
have to have the drive shaft hoop repainted but that's not a big deal.
As for the welded area on the chassis, I'm not going to worry about it
because they'll be covered by mufflers. The area around the welded areas
are flush now after a little grinding so now I have the max clearance
for whatever mufflers I end up using.

When I went on vacation in the early
summer, my wife and I stayed at her dads house up in Oregon. One of the
things my father-in-law did last year was put in central heat and
cooling so he didn't need this swamp cooler anymore. He was nice enough
to give it too me in exchange for a ride in the car. Well it was a hard
decision, but I accepted his offer!!! All I did was take out the glass
in one of my windows and installed it with some wood around it. After
tapping into some water near by, I was ready to stay nice and cool.
What a difference it made in there when it's over the century mark
outside. Thank you very much dad.....you're the best!! And you can look
forward to your ride real soon.

Here are the new Borla X-R1 racing mufflers that
barely fit between the chassis. To make them fit, I had to smash the
container a small amount with a soft-face hammer. I guess I'm going to keep them and see
how they sound so once I fire the engine again, I'll let you know what I
think. You can also see my drive shaft hoop freshly painted and
installed. I'm glad that I changed the way the drive shaft hoop fastens
so I can remove it with the exhaust system in place or not.

What you see below are my door hinges.
I decided to polish them because they were removed from the car so Bart
could work on the doors easier. They were made out of stainless steel so I
thought they would look nicer if they were polished. What a difference
about an hour or so makes. Once they're installed, they should look
        much better than before.
