This is a tool I made but forgot to
take a picture of it. It goes on the end of the crankshaft to turn it
while assembling the engine or whenever you have a need to rotate the
engine. This is a two piece design. The upper piece started as a solid piece of
steel 1 1/4" long. I then bored a hole through it to the diameter of the crankshaft
snout, then cut a groove in it to clear the crank-key and then put some
chamfers on both the inside and outside diameters.

This is the other end which is an old
1" socket that had a 1/2" square drive hole in it. I then TIG
welded the two pieces together to make this handy crank turning
        tool.

This is how it looks when in use. All
you do is attach a ratchet to the tool and start turning. It can be used
in a forward or backward motion and works great. It was easy to make and
it gave me another chance to use my welder.
