Now when you think of oil pans, you
don't of hamburgers but the company that makes my oil pan is

		Hamburgers.
They have a very nice product that I can show you.

One of the first things you notice is
the color. I won't be keeping this for long as I have something
different in mind. The other thing you might notice is the four nuts and
bolts coming out from the side of the pan. These are for a crank
scraper. In case you don't want to use it, you can take it out. What's a
        crank scraper?

In the top portion of the this picture
is a shinny strip of steel that runs the length of the pan. This is the
crankshaft scraper which helps peel or scrape excess oil from the
spinning crank. Remember on one of the previous pages about reciprocating
weight? Well this is just another form of it and the less we have, the
more power you make. Also notice the eight notches on the top and bottom
of the pan next to the bolt holes. Remember the notches I had to put in
the block? These are to clear the connecting rods just like the block.
This is a great feature so I don't have to pound out notches and maybe
        ruin a nice pan.

Those nuts are of the locking kind so
they don't come loose. Complete with a magnetic drain plug and brass
        washer.

Here you can see the trap doors that Hamburger
incorporates. By putting in one-way swinging doors, this allows oil to
stay next to the oil pump pickup and not starve for oil. Under severe
braking, the oil would try to rush to the front of the pan. By having
these doors, oil can't do that so it stays where you need it most. You
can also see the screen which is under the crank scraper to let oil
drain back into the pan. This pan is made of thick material because if
you notice, there's not very many bolt holes. Why is that you ask? It's
because the notches would be in the way of some of the holes so that's
why they make the pan so thick. This way they can get away with fewer
holes and still have it leak free. At least that's the plan.
