To handle the timing chores, I went
with a gear drive. For the guys that know me, they understand because I
had one in my other car. Pete Jackson is the maker of this timing
        set.

This is what it looks like for those
that haven't seen one before. The large gear goes on the camshaft, small
gear goes on the crankshaft and the two middle ones are called idler
gears. The purpose of the two idler gears instead of one is so the cam
        goes the normal direction.

These also came with the gear drive.
We have three mounting bolts, camshaft lock-plate, thrust button and
timing bushings. The thrust button goes in the front of the cam so it
won't move front to back and rides against the timing cover. The
lock-plate holds the thrust button in place. Also the lock-plate has
tabs that you bend up and around the bolts to
act as a killer lock washer. The timing bushings are to fine tune the
cam by a degree or two either way (advance or retard).

The cam button that came with the gear drive was okay
but I wanted a different one so I got one from
		Comp-Cams.
This one is a little nicer and plus it has a bearing in it.
