This will be much better to work with
now that they're cut. I sanded the edges smooth and it's just about time
to start welding some tubes to them.

What you see here is the gasket that
will be getting the same treatment as the flanges. Tin snips were used
to cut these and now they all match.

This is called a J-Bend which are made
by Dynatech. They get there name for obvious reasons as you can see. The
tube diameter is 1.875" or 1 7/8" and they're mandrel bent
which means they don't have any kinks in the bends. The size is 6"
X 12" and there made out of mild steel. What you do is cut this
tube where ever you think will work best starting from the head and from
there you work your way down a small amount. Now you cut a piece to go
in the collector and work your way back up. I tack weld each tube in two
places along the way till you meet in the middle and if everything goes
right, the ends of the middle tubes match up. What I
plan to do is follow the pattern from the plastic mock-up I did on the
other page. Now these tubes have a tight radius compared to other brands but I
needed this because of the tight area I had to work in. The two front
cylinders (1 and 2) will be the tightest bends coming out of the heads
so this should work good. After a few more days, I'll be able to show
some progress so don't nobody go no where.
