I'll need to add about 2" to the existing
linkage that goes between the TPS and carburetor. The linkage is made
out of stainless so I'll be using the same material for the piece I have
        to make.

Here is the linkage that I'll be modifying.
I'll be cutting it at the red line and adding a piece in between the two. The
cut will be made by a hacksaw because this is only .070 thick. Don't let
this fool you because this material is TUFF.

Here it is ready to weld. The new
piece is .400 wide X 1.950 long X .070 thick. You can see how I've put
some small weld preps on the ends of the new piece and the others too.
Let's weld it and see how it looks.

Well as you can tell I didn't do a
very good job at welding. I burned through the edges on both ends. I had the heat up to
high and didn't have a practice piece to start with so this is how it
came out. I ground down the welds just fine but those notches suck big
time so later on I'll make another one. This isn't the best picture but
you get the idea. Now this won't hurt the function of the part at all so
I'll be using it. As long as it pulls the TPS arm and doesn't break,
I'll be good to go and I know that won't happen with this stainless
        steel.
