Well let's get back to the port
matching on the adapter plates. As you can see, the left port has been
finished so you can see the difference between the two. Now this is the
back side of the adapter plate which has to match the head but the other
        side doesn't look the same.

It's hard to see here but this side
(front side) has the ports blended at an angle which is easy to do with
an air grinder. This angle in the corner of the plate is smaller than
the back side so there won't be a step while going to the header tube. A
step-down (like a ski jump ramp) is fine but not a step-up (like running
into a wall). Notice how much aluminum is on the bench when I was
        through.

Now that the adapter plates are
finished, I decided that I wanted to match the header flanges to the
adapter plates for two reasons. First and most important was that if
each header tube was independent of each other, it would be easier to
slide each tube into the collector. Trying to line-up all four tubes
into the collector can be a pain so this would take care of that. The
second reason was that it would look better.

You can see the lines that are on the
flange that will be cut at those points. When finished, they should match
        the adapter plate shapes.
