This is what it looks like with both
hangers in place. See how they were mounted at an angle that I was talking
about! I bolted them to the shock hoop with 5/16" bolts instead of
welding a stud to hang them on because I couldn't get to it very easily.
If the body were off, then no problem but this might be a better way to
go anyways.

Moving towards the middle of the car,
you can see the tubes running over the cross member centered just right.
I also used muffler clamps to hold the tubing in place instead of
welding them so I can get the system apart again.

This is a clamp on heat shield that
will be covering the exhaust tube that runs next to my transmission. If
you remember back in
Transmission section, I have wires coming
out of it running to the computer. These wires are about 1" from
the exhaust tube so I needed something to protect them from the heat. The
heat shield is
made by
Thermal-Tec and they say it can take temps up to 2000 F. Now this is
bold statement to make and I'll be testing it to see if it works or not.
Let's hope so.

The clamp-on heat shield
comes in three different lengths, one, two and three footers. I bought
the two foot size and it came with five stainless steel hose clamps to
hold the material on with. The material is a highly texturized silica
based fabric with a patented inorganic binder and has a limit of 2000
degrees. The shinny side goes toward the surface you want to protect.
Let's take a look at it installed on some exhaust tubing.
