Here you see how things are going to
work. By welding the small spacers to the sides of the battery box, the
3/8" diameter bolts will pass through them and be held on with
lock-nuts. This will hold things secure for sure....as long as my welds
        don't break.

Here you can see the plastic stops in
place which will keep the outside of the battery from rubbing against
the mounting bolts. I drilled and taped four 6-32 threads and bolted the
stops near the top and bottom of the box on both sides. This should keep
the battery safe from those bolt heads.

This is what it looks like all bolted
up. The hold down is out of the way in case I want to use the side
mounts. The only thing left to do now is hook-up the battery cables and
that's it. It's not much to look at but it should hold the battery in
place and not fall out. Once the rear body piece is in place, all this
will be hidden but if you really want to see it again, you can always
crawl underneath and take another look. The next thing to do now is
see if the starter is wired right.
