Here is the transmission going through
some weight reduction. Really the idea here is to make a little more
clearance for things like headers. There were three large pieces that
got the axe (one on the other side) and are going to be ground down
flush with the case (or to the red lines). There is also a rib down the
center that saw the grinder as well.

This is what it looks like after some
grinding and finishing. I'll be doing some sanding next.

I completely removed the rib that ran
down the center. This rib was 3/8" to 1/2" tall in places.

You can see that I removed the rib
from the front here too. I'll be giving this area a better finish because it
will show when it's installed. The whole trans won't be polished because
I don't know to many people that will be taking a mirror while under the
car to see if the top looks nice or not.
