The engine and transmission came out
pretty easy. The only thing I took off the engine was the carb and air
filter and I left everything else bolted on. I had to use some spacers
to bolt the chain so I wouldn't damage the intake manifold while
removing it. The spacers were some old rear-end shackles that I had
lying around which had three holes in them. I used one bolt to hold the
spacer to the head, and the other hole was used to hold the chain. Once
I had it on the ground, I used one of my wheel dollies with a piece of
plywood to place the trans on. This makes it easy to move the
        transmission around if needed.

All I have to say is "Daaaaaamn.....what
a mess". I don't think this garage has ever been so full of stuff.
It sure does seem weird having a bear chassis again!!!

Now that the chassis is naked, I
planned on cutting the ends off where you see the red line. The reason
for cutting these off is because I can see the ends of them while looking at the
front of the car and I didn't like it. I'm not going to be using a front
bumper so I decided to cut the ends off by about five inches.

This is what it looks like now after I
cut the ends off. I used a hacksaw and cut straight through, then I cut
two more times with the blade at an angle to rough in the shape. I then
used my grinder to finish off the radius. Notice one of my wheel dollies
holding the chassis off the ground. I have another one in the back so I
can move the chassis around without any help.
