Here is what I'm talking about, why are there two shifters
in this car? His answer...he has two  turbo 400 transmissions in
it, back-to-back. For my next question he must have read my mind, "why
two"? The answer was so he could have all different kinds of gear
ratio's without changing the rear gear. He says there are 12 different
combinations of gear ratio's depending on what gear each trans is in. My
next question was "knowing that Turbo 400's aren't really horsepower
friendly and that he has two of them, what kind of horsepower loss did
he have"? His answer was that only one trans would be working so the
horsepower loss wouldn't be any worse than if he had one.
Now how can that be? If there are two transmissions and
you were using each one along with two torque converters then I think
you would have double the parasitic loss due to using dual
transmissions. I mean if you had each trans in some kind of gear, then
wouldn't you be using both transmissions at the same time? I call
'bullshit' on his answer for this one.
