The Poppet Flats Volunteer Fire Company #63 had their second car show on
May 15th. The show was held at the old San Gorgonio Inn parking lot in
Banning and included a pancake breakfast from 7:00 to 11:00 am and the
car show ran from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. This show had all kinds of
vintage fire trucks, a large raffle, a blood drive by the Riverside
County Blood bank, Riverside County Sheriff's K-9 demo and the Mercy Air
helicopter made an appearance landing right in the parking lot close by.
It's been a few years since I've been near a helicopter landing and it
didn't take long to remember what rotor wash is while it's landing and
		taking off.
Last year this show was held in the small community of Poppet Flats
in the San Jacinto mountains but they decided to hold it in town this
time because they thought it would draw more people. Unfortunately there
were only about 40 cars that showed up and they hope they have a better
		turnout next time.
There were lots of old and new fire trucks on display and one guy
from town owns all of these that you see here.
