Wood Flag   8                                             03-2020

It's Finished

Here is what it looks like hanging on my wall. The size is 40" X 24".

The Cantons came out just about like I envisioned.

These two species of wood look pretty good together.

I added some 1/8" thick felt pads near the bottom so they rest against the wall.

Here is the smaller one and the size is 24" X 14 1/2".

I like the look of the 9mm brass here.

lots of 12 gage shotgun shells.

If you look close there is branded area in the bottom right corner. This brand was given to me by daughter Angela for fathers day in 2019. It says "Handcrafted by" along with my name.

What you do is heat the brand up for about three or four minutes. To heat it, I use my propane torch and once it hot enough you place it on your wood project. I've found that you only need to leave it on the wood surface for about five to six seconds, otherwise it gets too dark and burnt looking. And I always do a test piece before I brand my finished project.

Below is a sample piece that came with my metal brand. What a great gift so a big thanks to my daughter Angela.

This was a fun project to make and I hope everyone I made them for likes them.
