Working With Felt Continued

I'm going to use wood glue to hold the felt on. I've used this method before and it works great. Here I've just applied the glue to the base and I'm ready to stick the felt on.

A few hours later I used my sanding block with 150 grit paper to remove the excess material. By holding the sanding block at about a 45 degree angle to my work piece and then hitting the edges, it cuts through the felt with only a few strokes.

A few minutes later, this is what I had leftover. And I didn't have to do any touch-up either.

They're Finished

Here is what they look like all finished. However, only eight will be used with the spool being the extra I believe.

A close-up.

The felt came out really nice.

Working With Wood

Now it's time to make the game boards. There will be two of them and the wood I'll be using is alder, cherry and maple. This game board will have rectangles the same size as the figurine bases. The rectangles will be separated by the darker cherry and the border will be maple.

Here I'm ripping some of the alder that will become rectangles.

I'm cutting the rectangle pieces slightly oversize.

I used my cross-cut sled to bring in the final length.
