Making A Cutting Board Continued

 

Sanding the top and bottom surface goes just as fast using my DA sander.
 

 

 

Here I'm drilling some pilot holes for some screws that will hold on some rubber feet.
 

 

 

These rubber feet work great for this kind of project. I use #6 screws along with some washers that I place inside the rubber. This helps with making the feet more stable.
 

 

 

It's Finished

 

Here it is all finished. To seal it I used mineral oil which is food safe. Is it just me or does the center piece look like the Great Red Spot on Jupiter? Just saying...
 

 

 

Here you can see the one inch width of the maple.
 

 

 

The rubber feet keep the board from moving on just about any surface.

I think Tracey picked out a great looking pattern here. This was fun to work on and it didn't take long to make.
