Another Art Project  3                                                07-2019

Looking at this picture brings back a lot of bad smell memories while welding.

Bearings and Gears!

I believe this bearing came out a Can-Am X3 side-by-side. It's about four inches in diameter.

Looking down into the stack of springs.

The shortest gear out of all of them.

The angle of the springs are about 30 degrees.

A large picture of the finished art project. And now it's time to put it in the yard.

Installation

I put this in the front yard and centered it under a window. However, there just happens to be a clean-out for the sewer system right next to it. Time to cover those up.

I bought a fake rock that's a little too large for what I want but that's easy to fix.

This fake rock is made out of fiberglass so I used my Dremel and cut a few inches off the bottom to reduce the height. This worked out great but it was very messy.  Notice the white stuff to the right, that's fiberglass powder that was on my shoes.

I covered the steel base with dirt and added a few small rocks to make it look more natural.

This area had a plant that died a few years ago so this seemed like a good spot for my art project now. I don't think it's too large to be overwhelming and as the years go by certain parts of it will rust, which fine by me. The best part is my wife loves it!
