The 16th. Garden of Angels car show was held on October 27th. at the Desert
Lawn Memorial Park located in Calimesa, Ca. The show ran from 9 am to 3
pm but we arrived at 7:30 because this was the first time for this
location. The reason they didn't hold the event at the Yucaipa Regional
Park like they normally do is because the park wanted to much money this
year. Needless to say the show was thrown together in the last few
months but it went pretty well despite it all. The Garden of Angels is
a safe surrender for newborns program and is committed to the prevention
of newborn abandonment. With that being said, that doesn't always happen
which is where the Garden of Angels come in if one of the babies passes
away. The Desert Lawn Memorial Park is where the little ones are given a
name before they bury them which takes some very special people to keep
		the program going.
All of the proceeds went to The Garden of Angels and your
registration included a T-shirt and a goodie bag. Also the owner of the
first 94 pre-registered vehicles for the show were to receive a
Certificate of appreciation bearing the name of one of the children
buried in the Garden. We didn't receive ours so I'm thinking they will
mail them at a later date. The show had a lots of vendors, a pancake
breakfast, a BBQ lunch, a big raffle, a 50/50 drawing and a DJ playing
oldies music during the day. The event was open to all classes of cars
and they had about 150 show up that day which was a decent turnout for a
last minute event. Let's take a look at some of the cars that showed
		up that day.
