| The first show of the year over at the
Vons parking lot in Yucaipa has just started which is on the first
Friday of every month. This show is one of the closest to my house and
it draws a lot of cars. The show is put on by the Past Pleasures Car
Club which runs from April to October from 5 till 8pm.
Larry, my wife and I all arrived 45 minutes early
and to our surprise, not to many cars were there yet. But it didn't take
long for the place to fill up which was nice to see for their first show
of the year. They have a raffle, 50/50 drawing and oldies music playing
all night long. Also, if your like me and like to eat at these shows,
you have your choice of fast food or a couple of nice restaurants right
next door. Let's check out the show because there were some cars
        that I haven't seen before.
I've seen this 68 Camaro at a few shows before but
this was the first time that I've had a chance to talk with the owner.
Come to find out, this car runs high tens in the quarter mile and to
make that happen the power comes by way of a 427 Chevy that runs through
a Turbo 400 transmission. He says that it runs nice and cool through
town and sucks two gallons of fuel on one run down the track.
