Getting Close

The holes with the arrows will be used on the bottom. These will go through the base and into the bearing.

I'll be using some Polyurethane semi-gloss on this project. This water based product works very well, but it's thin so you have to be careful while you're applying it.

Here's something I didn't expect, the clear finish went through my four screw holes and dried to my Bench Cookies. I had a hard time separating the two from each other and as you can see, it left some rubber on my projects surface.

Here is a close-up of the mess I made. I used some sandpaper to remove all the rubber which was quick and easy. I told you the clear finish was thin....

It's Finished

Here it is all finished. I put three coats of clear on the top.

It's easy to lift and move around with those rounded edges.

Staring from the outside there is Sapele, Curly Maple, Alder, Black Walnut, Goncalo Alves, or Tigerwood, Cherry, Curly Maple and the center is Sapele.

Here you can see the screws that holds the base on. And you can see my brand as well.

The finish came out pretty nice.

I hope you like it dad because I had fun making it.
